It’s
always been recorded in the Scripture that you delight to show
mercy. We call this morning upon the mercies of God, the tender
mercies of David. Father, shower down your mercies upon this
nation. Shower down the mercies of God – that reservoir that you
delight in dispensing, oh God.
We call upon it this morning, Father. We
call upon it. We call upon the mercies of God for this nation,
for the youth, for the political leadership, for the spiritual
leadership. We have so many blind eyes.
Dear God, have mercy upon the religious
establishment in America. Open their eyes, Lord. Open the eyes
of our ministers to see a new way, to see a new day in God, to see
a new method of preaching this Gospel – a new way of walking with
God, talking with God, following God. Open the eyes of our
leadership, we pray, dear Lord, all across the nation in all the
denominations, Lord.
We thank you, God, for mercy. Don’t give us
blind shepherds. Don’t give us blind eyes. Lord, have mercy upon
your people. Give us men after the heart of God. Give us men who
know how to walk in the Spirit. Give us men who know how to
prophesy, men who know how to move in healing, men who know how to
preach the doctrines of the Holy Ghost and of freedom in Christ.
God, have mercy upon us. Forgive our sins. Supply us with fresh
leadership, God, fresh vision, fresh anointing, Lord. Revive the
hearts of those that have gone before, that are weary. God, take
some of these old ministers and turn them into young men. Turn
their hearts into children of eighteen. Revive the years and
years of datedness. Revive the years and years of being bound
like Sampson. God, let them stand one last time in the house of
God before they die and move in the power of the Spirit like
Sampson did.
For those that have been seduced by the
“Delilahs of the religious world”, God, I pray, give them one last
opportunity to shift the foundations of the Philistine nations,
and let them once again walk in the mighty power of God, and in
the anointing of God, and let them bring in more in their death
then they did in their life.
Open their eyes, God, to the glory of what
Christ is all about, to the glory of how David moved by the Holy
Spirit. He never even went up to a Philistine camp unless he
prayed and had a “green light” from the Lord. He never did
anything unless the Holy Spirit directed him. He never went to
battle unless God went with him. He was so led by the Holy Spirit
it’s unbelievable. David never lost a battle when he was led by
God. There was no defeating his army when he was led by God. And
the Bible says there is only one thing ever recorded against him –
the sin of Bathsheba – but up until that he walked perfect in your
eyes. God, restore the leadership of the House of David to the
Church. We thank you, dear God.
Oh, how your people cry for Holy Ghost leadership – men and women
that are flames of fire, men and women that are full of the Holy
Ghost, men and women that point people out and say, “You...
you’re from South America… What are you doing here? You don’t
even speak my language, but I know God sent you. Come here!” Men
who can discern the signs of the times, Lord, men full of the
power and the wisdom of God. Answer our prayers, oh Lord:
prophets, priests, kings, intercessors. Raise up your hidden
army, Lord. We thank you, God.
You are not going to abandon us to the wolves, to the blind eyes
and the dumb dogs. Father, have mercy on your people! They are
dumb sheep. They don’t know any better. Most of them don’t even
know what the Bible says! They have no idea what’s in that Book!
They’ve not studied to show themselves approved. They couldn’t
discern a doctrine if they had to. They have no idea what that
Book says from one end to the other. They’ve not learned the
doctrines of the Scriptures. Lord, have mercy upon your people, I
pray.
And raise up a generation of scholars who
will search that Word from one end to the other to find out if
this is so, if this is truly the way the Lord intended it. Give
your people a thirst for accuracy and knowledge and righteousness,
Father. Open their eyes. Take that spirit of slothfulness and
slumber off of them, Lord, and let them learn to trust Christ, and
to trust what the Bible says and not necessarily in the current
book, or tape teaching around the planet. They’ve been off so
many times, God, and most people have no idea. God, have mercy on
our ignorance.
Help us, Lord, to dig into that Book. We can
comprehend it; the Bible says the Holy Spirit will show us what it
means, eventually. You may not know the first day, the first
week, the first month, but within time, within a year or two,
you’ll begin to comprehend things. You’ll begin to see where
people are wrong; you’ll begin to see where the Church has been in
error, but it takes effort, it takes study.
God, I pray that anointing will fall upon the Church where the
average man will begin to devour that Word and tear it apart and
begin to understand how “two and two makes four”, and why this
doctrine says this, and why this doctrine says that. They’ve got
to feed themselves. They’ve got to discern the doctrines of the
Gospel. They’ve got to learn to hear the Holy Ghost and what He
says.
Dear God, open the ears and the eyes of this
generation to be just like devouring locusts of the Word, that
they would become competent scholars in their own right of what
you are talking about. Thank you, God. It’s not beyond
comprehension. The Holy Spirit can show us. Thank you, Lord.
Revelation by revelation the Holy Spirit can show your people what
is right and what is wrong. Thank you, God.
In your mercy, have mercy upon the laziness
of your people, God. We confess our own slothfulness and laziness
before you, Lord. We should have studied harder; we should have
learned more; we should have made more of an effort to comprehend
what you were after. God, remit our sins; wash us in your blood
and recommission us with a flame and a fire, we pray.
Put within our hearts the desire to turn America to God, to turn
America to God, to turn every town and village, and Middlesex
place to God, to set on fire, to set fires all over America –
fires of the Holy Ghost – that will burn, and burn, and burn, and
burn in the hearts of your people. “Did not our hearts burn on
the Road to Emmaus when he spoke to us?” Let that anointing, that
burning come upon the American people, God – that burning in their
hearts when they read or when they hear the Word of the Lord being
spoken across this nation. May their hearts burn as the
disciples’ hearts burned on the Road to Emmaus.
They will not even recognize the messenger of
Christ, but they will know as that word burns, and burns and burns
in their hearts, and they will set those beers down at that bar,
and they will began to talk about God and talk about the childhood
God that they knew. Let America’s hearts burn for the Savior.
May the day come when they recognize him as the One who was on the
Road to Emmaus.
Lord, most people don’t know what they are searching for. They
don’t have a clue. They just know that, “This is not it. I
still haven’t found what I’m looking for.” They are looking,
looking, looking into New Age, into false cults, into drinking,
into drugs, into sex, into materialism. They don’t know what
they’re looking for. They don’t know it’s you. They’re blinded;
you’re hidden from them. You are the hidden One on the Road to
Emmaus and they don’t know it’s you. Open their eyes; let the
scales come off, God.
Let the “Street called Straight” run from the
east coast to the west coast in America. Let a “Street called
Straight” appear across this nation, God, and may the burning Word
of the Lord began to penetrate the heartland of this country in
the heart of hearts of those steel workers and men and women of
God in America.
Bring your Church back to that straight plume
line, God, from the revelatory power that’s in the Word of the
Lord delivered from prophets and priests and kings who know their
God, and who know how to do exploits before him – men and women of
vision, men and women of prayer, men and women of Holy Ghost
leading, men and women who have the Macedonian call who are not
out trying to build their ministry, but they’re following the
ministry of the Holy Ghost, whether it’s into a small place or a
large place. They’re not out to build a corporate empire.
They’re out to follow the Holy Ghost whatever
the cost, even if they know they’re getting on a ship that goes
down they get on the ship and follow the will of God. They don’t
sell out for a retirement package. God, begin to fund those men
who are getting on the ships that go down, that take them to the
ports of call that God has for them, where the angels appear and
say, “Fear not! Even though the ship’s going down, no one’s going
to be lost. You’re going to accomplish what God says, through the
trials, through the temptations.”
Oh God, this is what we’re calling for. This is what we’re talking
about: when the Holy Ghost leads the Church, when men and women
knew God. Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Lord God. Thank you, Lord
God.
You’re rolling back the clock, I know you
are, to the day of the New Testament Church, to the Pauls, the
Peters, the James, and the Johns. Count us among those members,
oh Lord. “Help us not to buy tickets on the Titanic,” Lord. Help
us not to buy tickets on the luxury liners, but to get on the
ships that the Holy Ghost says, “Get on this boat. I don’t even
care if it goes down, you get on it, cause I’ll take you where you
need to be. The snake bites won’t kill you. If a brother stabs
you in the back, I’ll heal you. You will accomplish what I say.”
God, grant this type of fiery Holy Ghost determination in the
coming days – men who can turn towns, men who can turns states,
men who can turn countries to God with the power of their words,
with the anointing of the Holy Ghost falling. It takes the
anointing and the anointing comes from obedience. Disobedient
vessels do not get a powerful anointing from God. They get
scraps, the leftovers, the garbage details. Oh God, you’re not
going to trust the highest anointings to disobedient vessels.
Dear God, dear God, dear God, dear God, dear God, give us lowly
eyes; give us lowly eyes. Give us the vision of Christ.
Mercy, we pray for mercy. Only by your mercy
can we understand what you are trying to accomplish, Lord. We
beg, we plead, we call for your mercies, Lord, on our spiritual
vision where we’ve missed it. Heal us; turn us, we pray. We
thank you for your tender mercies, God.
