What is happening to our land, Lord?
A land, which was once birthed in freedom of religion
The land of the free and the home of the brave.
Lord, forgive us in America this night.
For the blood of these young ones does cry out to you;
They were killed by the spirit of Cain.

~ Bonnie Franklin ~

It is all so senseless, and so sad;

It seems that we all have lost our innocence

And our childhood dreams in a day

As the reports were broadcast nationwide

Of the children who were slain by the spirit of Cain.

For many dreams did die this night:

The dreams of a father of seeing his son take flight;

The dreams of seeing a child enter the adult world;

The dreams of a girl wanting her own child to hold;

The dreams of finally growing up to be what you had always dreamed,

The dreams of seeing your young ones bring you grandbabies one day

To bounce upon your knee

God, I give all the dreams of these hearts unto you and all of the tears.

May our Lord not forget what has happened here.

Lord, hold responsible all of the guilty ones for every drop of blood.

Let not the Enemy of our soul claim this as a victory for him to behold.

But may your people rise up and take to the streets

And wipe from them clean from all of the work of the Enemy.

May we take back our schools as ground for Thee.

May the Lord's name be so heralded in plaques and anthems sweet.

May it be sung out loud and clear

This land is the Lord's and his Name does belong here

Within every schoolyard upon every pillar which holds our nation's flag.

May the words ring out "In God we Trust"

As it was in the days of Paul Revere and the Sons of Liberty.

May we proclaim America the land of the free and the home of the brave

As the land of our God may we worship Him all of our days.

Come Lord Jesus, and light our pathways,

Help us to see as you do see

Make all of our pathways straight

May our roads indeed go straight ahead on into the future of the Lord

May we not have to shake our heads in dismay and in shame

Because they have taken down your name, and your cross, and your word

And in its place the words of the Enemy of our soul is heard.

Give the youth of this nation a new song to hear and to sing,

One of hope, and of love and of life full and free

One of trusting with faith in the Lord God above

May they rest in your wisdom and find peace and comfort in your love

God, I dedicate the youth of this nation now unto thee,

So many are out there speaking hate, and cruel atrocities

Filling the young ones' spirits and heads with the thoughts of the Enemy

Lord, turn the tables on the Evil One instead.

Lord, may the airways once again

Be commanded by a spirit of love so strong and sweet

That it will clean the air once again with the anthems of the Lord so sweet

Yes, the sixties were a time of disillusion and weird happenings,

But also of love and peace

May we sing once again of these

And in the midst of a chaotic world

May the youth of this nation hear and begin to sing

The songs of hope - the songs of the redeemed

Hide the truths of your laws and your word within these songs

May goodness now reign in the young ones hearts

May they whistle and march to a different tune

The one that the Angels beat upon heavenly harps…

That there is hope for this X generation,

The one which comes before Y and Z

The final ones which shall walk the earth

Before the returning of the Son of God unto the planet of the seas

For as it was in the beginning so it shall be in the end,

As the Alpha and Omega shall once again walk the earth with man

It is so soon and yet not far away

When the sun shall indeed shine upon the light of a more glorious day

As the Son of God does return to rule upon the land

And finally then we shall see truth and justice by his command

As the wicked writings and songs are cast into the seas

When one song is heard above all others - the song of the Redeemed

And no longer shall the Enemy's songs reign upon the land,

For the Angels shall be playing the holy songs instead

Thank God the day is coming

When no longer shall the Pied Pipers songs be played

From these who would so innocently declare

That their songs do no harm to the children who are here

But You would say, to them,

If they stood before you this day

Whose songs were they singing

As they took the lives of so many this day?

And whose blood does run now fresh in the streets?

The blood of innocent lambs just learning to hold unto their dreams.

No longer shall the Pied Piper be allowed to play his evil tunes,

For the air shall be cleared as the Angels do play your tune

The tune of the Groom who has come for his Bride

The tune which no longer shall be denied

This is the world and the government that we do long for and do wish to see

The one when Christ our Lord is the Supreme Ruler and King

For He shall rule with a rod of iron and with bronze fists and knees

He shall not buckle under the tauntings of the Enemy's plans and schemes.

But He shall hold strong and fast to the rules and the ways

Of the Heavenly Father, for it is His Word He obeys

This is the day and the land that we do hope for and long to see

The Land where Jesus Messiah is declared the one true Lord and King

When no longer will we have to se our loved ones leave

To fight the Enemy's armies across the seas

For the ultimate super power shall reign upon the earth,

Move over all of the others,

For the Son of God is about to come back to earth

A king like such you have never seen

To wage war and battle like you've never began to comprehend or to dream

For this One has control of the oceans and the seas,

The heavens above and the earth beneath

And yes, then and only then shall mankind see peace on earth

For the earth herself does yearn and cry for the returning

Of the Lord of divine birth

Hold fast to your callings

Don't give up on your dreams

For the Lord Jesus is indeed coming

To set right the works of the Enemy

On Thursday, May 27, 1999, Darrell Scott, the father of Rachel Scott, a victim of the Columbine High School shootings in Littleton, Colorado, was invited to address the House Judiciary Committee's subcommittee. The following is a portion of the transcript.

"We all contain the seeds of kindness or the seeds of violence. The death of my wonderful daughter, Rachel Joy Scott, and the deaths of that heroic teacher, and the other eleven children who died must not be in vain. Their blood cries out for answers."

"The first recorded act of violence was when Cain slew his brother Abel out in the field. The villain was not the club he used. Neither was it the NCA, the National Club Association. The true killer was Cain, and the reason for the murder could only be found in Cain's heart. "In the days that followed the Columbine tragedy, I was amazed at how quickly fingers began to be pointed at groups such as the NRA. I am not a member of the NRA. I am not a hunter. I do not even own a gun. I am not here to represent or defend the NRA because I don't believe that they are responsible for my daughter's death. Therefore I do not believe that they need to be defended. If I believed they had anything to do with Rachel's murder I would be their strongest opponent."

"I am here today to declare that Columbine was not just a tragedy - it was a spiritual event that should be forcing us to look at where the real blame lies! Much of the blame lies here in this room. Much of the blame lies behind the pointing fingers of the accusers themselves. I wrote a poem just four nights ago that expresses my feelings best. This was written way before I knew I would be speaking here today."

"Your laws ignore our deepest needs
Your words are empty air
You've stripped away our heritage
You've outlawed simple prayer.
Now gunshots fill our classrooms
And precious children die.
You seek for answers everywhere
And ask the question "Why"
You regulate restrictive laws
Through legislative creed.
And yet you fail to understand,
That God is what we need!"

"Men and women are three-part beings. We all consist of body, soul, and spirit. When we refuse to acknowledge a third part of our makeup, we create a void that allows evil, prejudice, and hatred to rush in and reek havoc. Spiritual influences were present within our educational systems for most of our nation's history. Many of our major colleges began as theological seminaries. This is a historical fact. What has happened to us as a nation? "We have refused to honor God, and in doing so, we open the doors to hatred and violence. And when something as terrible as Columbine's tragedy occurs politicians immediately look for a scapegoat such as the NRA. They immediately seek to pass more restrictive laws that contribute to erode away our personal and private liberties."

"We do not need more restrictive laws. Eric and Dylan would not have been stopped by metal detectors. No amount of gun laws can stop someone who spends months planning this type of massacre. The real villain lies within our own hearts. Political posturing and restrictive legislation are not the answers. The young people of our nation hold the key."

"There is a spiritual awakening taking place that will not be squelched! "We do not need more religion. We do not need more gaudy television evangelists spewing out verbal religious garbage. We do not need more million dollar church buildings built while people with basic needs are being ignored. We do need a change of heart and a humble acknowledgment that this nation was founded on the principle of simple trust in God!  As my son Craig lay under that table in the school library and saw his two friends murdered before his very eyes He did not hesitate to pray in school. I defy any law or politician to deny him that right! I challenge every young person in America, and around the world, to realize that on April 20, 1999, at Columbine High School - prayer was brought back to our schools."

"Do not let the many prayers offered by those students be in vain. Dare to move into the new millennium with a sacred disregard for legislation that violates your God - given right to communicate with Him. To those of you who would point your finger at the NRA - I give to you a sincere challenge. Dare to examine your own heart before casting the first stone!  My daughter's death will not be in vain! The young people of this country will not allow that to happen!"
