Praying in the Midnight hours

The Holy Spirit is the great intercessor.  It is he who calls us in the midnight hours for intercession and prayer.  He is the one who leads us and teaches us even how to intercede in the spirit.  He leads us in prayer according to God's will.  At times he may even lead us into experiences in the spirit realm such as Jacob experienced when he wrestled with that angel until the break of the morning.  It was in his night of intercession and wrestling in the spirit realm that he found power with God by overcoming the angelic host.

We earn our stripes in the midnight hours, in the hours of intercession and prayer.  It is in the midnight hours that the Holy Spirit draws us into times of intercession and times of wrestling with God.  If we will stay faithful to the wrestling of our soul, if we will stay faithful to the call, then we too shall prevail with the Lord.  For it was in Jacob's time of wrestling with the angel of the Lord that he prevailed and he was granted power in the kingdom of God.  It is during our times of wrestling that seeds are implanted into our hearts by the Holy Spirit.  These seeds are seeds of what the Lord desires to come forth in our lives.

But the way to bring it to pass is in the midnight hour.  It is on your knees in hours of intercession before the Lord, pleading your case, knocking on heaven's door, laying your petitions before his throne, confessing your sins, availing yourself of the blood of the Lamb until God answers, until God grants, as he granted Christ, as  he granted the disciples the power and the authority, the right, and the privilege to move in the ministry of the Spirit.  We gain our victory on

our knees first and then we shall see it manifested in the natural realm. Praying in the midnight hours is not a hard thing.  It simply means devoting the midnight hours to him and if he says you can rest, then rest, but if he says to rise, then you rise.  If he says to pray, then you pray.  If he wakes you up early then heed the Spirit's wooing and come into the Lord's presence and spend that time with him on your knees, walking the floor praying in the Spirit and in the understanding also.

Sometimes the travail may be so fierce and so strong upon you interceding with your God that you may experience the time of wrestling with the angel, and even wrestling with the demonic forces aligned against your loved ones.  Will you be that living sacrifice and give yourself over to the Spirit that he might use you in prayer and intercession?  Is it worth travailing in labor for hours to bring a child into the world?  It is worth travailing for hours to birth something in the spirit realm as well.  Much is accomplished.  Much is accomplished praying in the midnight hours.

“And they do not rest day or night, saying:  ’Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!’”
Revelation 4:8
