We've often heard the term "soul mate" when
people talk about falling in love when speaking of a life
long friend. But I've never heard anyone talk about
their "Spirit
mate". When Don and I
met in college he said we were like bookends. We
would have these long conversations lasting for hours
talking about God and theology and what amazed us both is
that we didn't disagree on anything concerning the Lord,
nothing at all.
We came from totally
different backgrounds but we were taught on
the inside by the same teacher - God, the Holy
Spirit. Our beliefs were identical. Our goals
in the spirit matched perfectly. Our hopes and dreams
concerning the things of God were the same hopes and
dreams. We have actually had identical visions at
the same time and even gone into Heaven together. We
are truly "Spirit mates".
A young woman came to me recently saying that she had a
dream where a fella she had been seeing last summer came
to her and said they were so compatible that he believed
they could be soul mates. I told her I think the
dream means he's evaluated his life and he may indeed attempt to
contact her again. But then I reminded her of a vision the Lord
had given while praying for her
concerning who would be her husband and what path her
future would take. We all want to find
God's perfect will or at least to find happiness and peace
and be in his acceptable will. Yet in the vision I
had seen this young man standing in front of an open door
called "pain" - the pain of what could of
been. Then a saw another door. At the moment
it was closed, yet behind it was a king in the spirit - God's choice to
be her husband. I'm praying she
finds this one to make a matched set - her spirit mate.
Prayer: Lord
God, we do pray for the children. We've dedicated
them to you, many since they were babes. At whatever
age they are this day, even if some have seen marriages
fail and they are looking once again, we pray for a
supernatural opening in the heavenlies that "match
making Angels" would be released bringing guidance
and wisdom into the hearts and minds of our loved
ones. May the youth of this generation - those
destined for glory - find not only the will of God for
their lives when choosing careers and ministries - but we
give you free reign. Not our will, but Thine be
done. Thy will, God, may thy will be done and
accomplished in their lives and ministries and
homes. May this be a generation whose hearts and
purposes burn for you and your kingdom. May they
have ears that hear, eyes that see and hearts that cry out
evermore for your Spirit.
